SGSS PSG - 'WALK FOR RICE' on 28 Sep 2012 (Fri)

Dear PSG Parents,

The school is organising a 'Walk for Rice' event for all teachers and staff on 28 September 2012 (next Friday) at Gardens By The Bay. Under the initiative, NTUC pledges a bowl of rice for every 100m to help about 7,000 needy families within the SE CDC cluster. PSG parents are invited to join in the walk to do their part for charity.
Details are as follows:

a) walk is for 5km, all will be walking with the school's 5 assigned leaders
b) you can join the teachers and staff for light snacks available at 3.00pm in school
c) report to school by 3.45pm, bus will leave 4.00pm - 4.15pm
d) it is free and easy after the walk, Mrs Esther Wong (Chairperson for the initiative) is trying to get concessions for those who wish to go for the attractions; otherwise parents can take to the MRT or the school bus back to school for their car, but if you are taking the bus, please indicate in your reply to Mr Alvin Goh.

Those who wish to sign up please register with Mr Alvin Goh via our liaison officer goh_toh_fook@moe.edu.sg as soon as possible early this week with:
1. your name
2. number of persons including yourself (pls state adult or children, and all to bring i/c or passport for NTUC's register)

09 September 2012

Dear PSG parents,

The Organising Committee would like to thank each and everyone of you who had contributed one way or another to the Teachers' Day Celebration Event, 'It's Fiesta Time!'

It was a tremendously successful event, we have received feedback from teachers and staff that they enjoyed themselves very much. Many have come forth to thank PSG for having put up a really interesting fun and food programme, as well as for presenting the generous lucky draw prizes. The event went so well that all of us who were there rolling the programme out enjoyed ourselves too!

I really want to thank all parents who stepped forth and variously helped with their time, energy, experience in preparing for the event, even as special thanks go to:

  • Lily - who took charge of the overall venue planning and procurement of tables and chairs so meticulously
  • Annie - who led the hospitality team spanning across the reception area, door gift presentation, caricature corner and the photo booth
  • Grace - who organised for the buffet spread and special hot stations with parent helpers
  • Esther - for all decor arrangements with her team
  • Ginny - who gave us the table game 1, photo booth, and co-led for The Macarena with Sherryl
  • Jorge - for his absolutely stunning in his role as Famous Italian Chef in the table quiz
  • Wendy & Chwee Har - for organising and preparing the lucky draw items
  • Daniel - for managing the sound system throughout the event
  • Bernie - our cool and steady event emcee
A big 'Thank You' also goes to members and the alumni who have volunteered lucky draw items and financial contributions! All will be duly acknowledged in our report during our next PSG meeting on Wed 19 Sep 2012.

Last but not least, our success would not have been possible without the use of the air-conditioned School Hall, courtesy of Miss Jackie Cheng, and Mr Anith who have made all things possible for the event!
